Police in Inverness say they are "increasingly concerned" for the safety of a 13-year-old girl who has been missing since Friday.

Northern Constabulary said on Sunday that Kirsty Nicolson, pictured above, has not been seen since the morning of Friday October 9.

Kirsty, who lives in the Raigmore area of Inverness, is described as being five feet tall, of thin build and with dyed blonde shoulder length  hair.

She was last seen wearing blue denim shorts, a black and pink jacket and black Ugg boots.

She was also wearing sunglasses with white frames and carrying a large black handbag.

A police spokesman said: "Anybody who has seen Kirsty or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact Inverness Police on 01463 715555 or their local Police Station."
